Crime Prevention Advice from Marlow Neighbourhood Team (NHPT)

Catalytic Convertor Thefts
Thieves are still stealing catalytic convertors in the area.
Vehicles mainly being targeted are: Honda, Toyota & Lexus, although other makes are still at risk.
Protect your vehicle’s catalytic convertor by fitting something like a ‘CATLOC’ device to deter thieves.
Consider reviewing your home security, access and lighting to make things difficult for thieves.

KEYLESS ENTRY VEHICLE THEFTS
A few ideas:
USE A ‘FARADAY’ POUCH SCAN-BLOCKER TO SECURE CAR KEYS
GARAGE YOUR VEHICLE
USE A MECHANICAL STEERING WHEEL LOCK
BLOCK VEHICLES IN
REVIEW YOUR HOME SECURITY AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING
For our Marlow community, we have a limited amount of ‘Faraday’ pouches that help to reduce the risk of keyless entry vehicle thefts.
Please let us know if you would like a free pouch by emailing MarlowNHPT2@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk.

House in Darkness
The team have been out delivering house in darkness cards to the houses on our area that are in complete darkness. If your house is in complete darkness you are making it more vulnerable and therefore at risk of burglary. Due to it getting darker earlier in the evenings you can protect your home by using a timer switch.
If you would like a FREE timer switch and you live in Marlow, Bourne End or Wooburn Green then please email MarlowNHPT2@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk.

Van Security
Please ensure that you:
-Secure your vehicle
-Secure tools and equipment
-Remove any tools where possible to remove or reduce the risk of theft
-Register & mark your tools
-Install a Dash-Cam or CCTV
-Park against a wall where possible to restrict access
-Use Deadlocks or security cages
-Remove all valuables
-Place warning stickers on your vehicle

Please consider your home security to prevent any of the above from happening to you. The best thing to add to you home security is CCTV camera(s). Email the team if you would like to discuss home security further MarlowNHPT2@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk.
