Appeal for Witnesses following burglaries in Cumnor

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following three burglaries in Cumnor.
Between 10pm on 9th January – 1pm on 10th January two properties on Abingdon Road, Cumnor were broken into. Offenders smashed an upstairs balcony window to gain access to one and a conservatory panel on another. Searches were conducted but nothing was stolen. Occurrence number 43200010701.
Between 5th – 12th January a property in The Glebe, Cumnor was broken into. A rock from the garden was used to smash the patio doors. A search took place but it is unknown what was stolen at this time. Occurrence number 43200012516.
If you live near any of these addresses please could you check any CCTV for the date and time of the offences. If you have any information please report it online ( or call 101 and quote the occurrence number.
We would like to urge residents to think about their home security with our top 10 burglary prevention tips:
  1. Look around as you leave your property. Is there any suspicious vehicles or people?
  2. Lock doors and windows
  3. Install CCTV and/or camera enabled door bells
  4. Don’t advertise your whereabouts on social media
  5. Change your routine where possible
  6. Don’t leave keys in windows and doors
  7. Leave a variety of lights on in the evening
  8. Target harden your garden – is there anything in your garden that could be used to force a door or smash a window? Make sure your sheds are secure.
