Community message "Call For Action" Dementia Friends of Great Missenden

Alert message sent 08/06/2016 16:17:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This TV Alert is a little different from our usual crime reporting and is hoping to reach out to our very considerate and helpful community members that we have come to meet over the last few years. Thames valley Police are members of the Dementia Awareness committee based here in Great Missenden. It is a small team at the moment but we are aware that this health issue affects many of our family members. We are hoping to recruit new members to join the team and meet up once a month at the Library in Great Missenden. The purpose is to raise awareness that this group exists and that there is help and support available to the community when and where it is needed. As a member of the team you would help us to spread the word to local families that help exists and have the knowledge of where to find this help and how to access support. We meet once a month to brainstorm ideas and have a cup of tea here at the library in Great Missenden. The next committee meeting is July 12th and 12:00 for one hour. If you feel you could spare an odd hour here and there to help our tiny team of 5 with the aim of spreading the word, please come along and join us. Your help would be very much appreciated. There are two events that we have planned for families who may need some advice or support and they are on Friday the 1st July at 11am at the Library Great Missenden and Wednesday the 24th August at 10:30 am again here at the Library. These events are completely free, Children are most welcome to these events and information will be available on accessing help and support for your family or friends. If you have any queries here are a few contacts that will help.
