Missing man update

Alert message sent 21/01/2022 19:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Recently, I sent out an Alert for a missing man, Marc Wilson. It is with sadness that I am sending this from an Oxford Mail posted online at 5pm today.

POLICE officers believe they have found the body of a man reported missing from Oxford almost a week ago.
Marc Wilson, aged 49, was last seen on January 8 and was reported missing to the police on January 15.
Mr Wilson, from Leicester, was last seen on his boat near Folly Bridge, Oxford, at around 1.15pm.
Following an extensive search, the body of a man was found in the River Thames on Wednesday evening.
The man’s death is being treated as unexplained, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Detective Inspector Ryan James, based at Oxford police station, said: “Very sadly, following extensive searches, we have located a man’s body.
“Although formal identification has not taken place, we believe this to be Marc.
“Marc’s next of kin have been made aware and are being offered support by officers.
“I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who shared our appeal, and on behalf of Thames Valley Police, I would extend our condolences to Marc’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
