Appeal for witnesses following assault in Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for a specific witness following an assault in Oxford.
Just after 10pm on Wednesday 9 October the victim, a woman in her mid-twenties, was walking through the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre car park on Old Road, Headington when a man approached her and an argument started. The man hit the victim several times.
They carried on walking along Old Road towards the Churchill Hospital and the man started to hit the woman again.
The victim sustained injuries to her face.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jessica Godfrey based at St Aldates police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident to please come forward.
“I am particularly interested in speaking with the member of the public who drove passed at the time of the incident and stopped to help the victim, driving her to a place of safety.

“Anyone with information can contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or report this online quoting reference number 43190313772.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
