Appeal for witnesses to assault in Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an assault in Reading.
At around 11pm on Monday (4/2) the victim, a man aged in his forties, was in a property on Chatham Street with a woman when two other men entered the property.
There was a fight between the three men and the victim suffered stab wounds.
The two offenders then left the property and headed towards Oxford Road.
The first offender is a white man in his mid-twenties of slim build with black hair and a short black beard. He was wearing a green parka style anorak with a hood, blue jeans and black shoes.
The second offender is white man in late twenties of stocky build with black hair in a Mohawk style. He was wearing red and black hooded anorak, blue jeans and red shoes.
The victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen, cuts to his fingers and minor wounds to his face and neck and currently remains in hospital.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Matt Stone of Reading Force CID, said: “This was a serious assault which resulted in a man suffering stab wounds.
“The victim is still receiving medical care in hospital.
“The community may notice an increased police presence as we conduct enquiries in the area as part of the investigation.
“If you know anything about this incident or think you have information which could help officers please talk to officers at the scene or contact us quoting the reference number 43190037089.
“We would especially like to speak to anyone with CCTV in the area.”

A woman, aged 36 of Reading was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released with no further action.

This incident is now being investigated as an assault.
