Appeal for witnesses following attempted burglary in Water Stratford

Alert message sent 07/01/2019 12:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

At around 1pm on Thursday 3 January, two men attempted to enter a house on Water Stratford Road by forcing the rear patio door.

The occupants of the house were at home and disturbed the offenders who made off over a field and then got on a motorbike and rode away in the direction of Finmere.

The offenders were wearing dark clothing and motorcycle helmets. The offender who then drove the motorbike was wearing a hi vis jacket and a white motorcycle helmet.

It is possible that this incident is linked to two burglaries in Dadford and Mixbury that also took place during the day on Thursday 3 January.

If you believe you have any information that may assist with this investigation, please get in touch with us online or by calling 101. You will need to quote reference number 43190002361. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. If you hae any CCTV, please review the footage to see whether anything has been captured.

Investigating officer DC Emma Francis said: “Burglaries are always a concerning incident for the local community as well as distressing for those involved. These offences always serve as a reminder to tighten up security at home, be sure to keep valuables out of sight from doors and windows and make sure all access points are locked when you go out.

“I also urge anyone in the local area who sees any suspicious activity, particularly regarding individuals on motorbikes, to report this to us online or by calling 101. As ever, if you believe a crime is in progress then you should call 999.”
