Anti Social Behaviour update

Alert message sent 19/05/2022 00:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Due to recent issues with Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) involving a number of cars congregating and been driven noisily and recklessly within the car park of Sainsbury’s Ringmead, Bracknell, the local  Police’s Problem Solving Team led by Sgt Cass Oswald, have been working closely with Sainsbury’s, Mitie and Bracknell Forest Council to find a long term solution, all parties recognising that the ASB at the location has been a concern for local residents, and store staff.
Anyone visiting the store since last weekend, may have noticed a mobile Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) van in the car park.  Permanent ANPR cameras will be installed in the near future, to enforce car park access restrictions similar to those in place at The Peel Centre, Skimped Hill, in the town centre, so that Penalty Parking Charges can be charged on vehicles that enter the car park outside of trading hours and without legitimate reason.
Police will also continue to use enforcement powers when anti-social behaviour occurs, but are confident that the long term approach agreed with Sainsbury’s and their agents will act as an on-going deterrent .
