Alert message sent 13/04/2022 12:08:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

-Appeal for witnesses-

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an attempted  burglary of a detached house in Pinehill Road, Crowthorne.

At about 15.00hrs on Tuesday 12 April whilst the residents were out, an attempt was made, using a crowbar or similar implement to force the front door of the house. The offender was unsuccessful but damage was caused to the door and door frame.

The house was equipped with a doorbell camera, so it is known that the offender was a male wearing a camouflage jacket and that there was a second male wearing a blue jacket who took up a position on the roadway keeping an eye out.

The police are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident, or has domestic CCTV or Dashcam footage of the suspects to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43220158235.

If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact “Crimestoppers” anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111. It is an independent charity, no personal details will be asked for, calls are not recorded or traced and you would not have to go to court.

To reduce the risk of criminals targeting your home at this time of year make sure your home always looked occupied, use simple timer sockets to turn lamps on and off when you are out in the evenings. Close and secure gates that lead to rear or enclosed gardens. Further crime prevention advice can be found on the Thames Valley Police website at;

Neighbours looking out for each other, and been prepared to report suspicious activity also helps deter offenders and reduce crime. If you want to find out if there is already a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your area, or you’d like to find out more, check out their site

Feel free to share this information and advice with neighbours, friends and family or on social media.
