Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Burglary

-Appeal for witnesses-

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary of a house on Moray Avenue, just off Owlsmoor Road.

Between 3.00pm and 4.450pm on Friday 28 January unknown offenders gained entry into an unoccupied detached house. Gaining access into a secure rear garden and then using a bladed tool to force a rear door open.

Once inside the offenders made an untidy search of the main bedroom, locating and stealing jewellery.

It is likely that the offenders had arrived by car.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles during the relevant time or witnessed the incident or who feels they may have any information to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43220041686.

If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact “Crimestoppers” anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111. It is an independent charity, no personal details will be asked for, calls are not recorded or traced and you would not have to go to court.

To reduce the risk of your home been targeted by opportunist burglars ensure it always appears occupied. If you are out during the evenings use time switches to turn lamps and even a radio on. The Neighbourhood Watch Association can advise interested residents on how to set up and organise a Watch Scheme, where neighbours can keep an eye out for each other.
