Man sentenced for burglary in High Wycombe

Alert message sent 12/11/2021 08:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

We have been informed that, following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been sentenced to 21 weeks’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to burglary.

Terry Gray, aged 43 of Abercromby Avenue, High Wycombe, was sentenced at a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday (8/11).

On 5 October 2021 officers received a report that a property on Station Close, High Wycombe had been broken into.

Officers attended and located Gray in the property, which was vacant as the occupant had sadly passed away a few days before.

Gray was arrested and on 7 October 2021 he was charged with one count of burglary with intent to steal.

Investigating officer, PC Stuart Baron based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Burglary is a crime which affects its victims very personally. In this instance, Gray burgled a property only a few days after the tenant had died.

“I am satisfied that this case has led to a successful prosecution of Gray for his crime which caused further stress to a grieving family.

“I hope the fact that Gray has been prosecuted and sent to prison will allow the family to have one less thing to worry about during this already distressing time for them.”
