Appeal for witnesses following distraction burglary in Bracknell

At around 11am yesterday (09/06), the victim, a woman in her seventies, was at home at her property in Yarley when a man knocked at the door saying he was there to check her taps.

He entered the property and asked her to empty the cupboard under the sink, and while she was doing so he wandered around the house. The victim approached the man after discovering what he was doing and he left the property.

Nothing was stolen but her handbag had been moved.

The man is described as a tanned man in his late 30s with a stocky build and short black hair. He was wearing a blue and white checked shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a yellow hi-vis jacket. He was wearing a blue surgical mask.
