Alert message sent 10/12/2020 09:49:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Subject: Appeal for witnesses following a burglary in Easthampstead
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Easthampstead.
It is believed that between 7.00am and 8.40pm on Wednesday 9 December  an unknown offender or offenders broke into a house in Mansfield Crescent. Indications suggest the offender used a bladed tool to force the front door, before entering the property and making an untidy search, before possibly exiting via the rear patio door which was found by the returning home owner to have been left open.
Investigating officer PC3022 Emily Aldridge  said “ We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information or domestic CCTV of suspects to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 43200416984.
If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact “Crimestoppers” anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111. It is an independent charity, no personal details will be asked for, calls are not recorded or traced and you would not have to go to court.
To reduce the risk of criminals targeting your home at this time of year make sure your home always looks occupied, use simple timer sockets to turn lamps on and off when you are out in the evenings. Close and secure gates that lead to rear or enclosed gardens. Further crime prevention advice can be found on the Thames Valley Police website at;
Neighbours looking out for each other, and been prepared to report suspicious activity also helps deter offenders and reduce crime. If you want to find out if there is already a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your area, or you’d like to find out more, check out their site

Please feel free to share this information and advice with neighbours, family and friends and on social media.
