Witness Appeal after an attempted Robbery and assault in Cutteslowe Park in Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses or information following a robbery and an assault in Cutteslowe Park, North Oxford, on Friday (24/7) between 11:15pm and 11:50pm.

Four 19 year old men were sitting by the pond in Cutteslowe Park when they were approached by three men and a woman with a black dog.
One of the men was intoxicated and made comments to the group in a threatening manner.
Another of the men made threats to the victims.

The four young men got up to leave the park but the offenders followed them. As they reached the exit from the park at Holt Weer Close and Templar Road, one of the offenders tried to take a backpack from one of the victims but the victim pulled it back. The offender then punched one of the other victims.
The victims then managed to get away.

The first suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and of a slight build. He had longish blond hair, a straggly beard and was wearing a black t-shirt and grey shorts. He had a silver chain around his neck and was intoxicated.

The second suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5ft 10 ins tall and of a large build. He had short ginger hair and a beard.

The third suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 6ft tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a black tracksuit with white stripes and the hood up.

The fourth suspect is described as a white woman aged between 20 and 30 years old and about 5ft tall.

Case Investigator Tara Scott based at St Aldates Police Station said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information.
