Appeal for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Heythrop

At around 5.20am on Monday (15/7) the offender entered a garage on Dunthrop Road which activated CCTV sensors and alerted the home owner.

The police were called and quickly attended the scene.

A 56-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and vehicle theft. He has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer PC Adam Taylor based at Witney police station, said: “If anyone thinks they witnessed anything, in particular a silver Citroen C4 that is believed to be in the area at the time of the incident or could have CCTV or dash-cam footage, please contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting 43190213980 or make a report online.

“If you don’t wish to speak directly with police, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers for 100% anonymity on 0800 555 111 or make a report online.”
