Appeal for witnesses following an assault in High Wycombe

Yesterday (24/1) at around 7am the victim, a 40-year-old man, was approached by an unknown man who asked him for money on Bowerdean Road.

When the victim declined, he was kicked in the back of his leg. The offender then produced a weapon, believed to be a small knife, and cut the victim’s face before running off. 

The victim sustained cuts to his face and was treated at High Wycombe minor injuries unit. He has since been discharged.  

The offender is described as a tall, white man, with dark hair, a beard and of slim build. He was wearing a hat, glasses, a hooded top and tracksuit bottoms. 

Investigating officer, PC Mark Palethorpe based at High Wycombe police station said: “This was an unprovoked attack on the victim which was undoubtedly extremely frightening. 

“If you have any information which could assist the investigation please contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting the reference 43190024457 or make a report online.

“If you do not wish to speak to police, please call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
