Alert message sent 13/05/2022 13:18:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following criminal damage to a heritage site in Bicester.

The incident occurred between Friday 25 February and Sunday 27 February. The site is located in the Garden Quarter, which is within the village of Caversfield.

The offender(s) have trespassed within the location and defaced a Grade 2 listed building by spray painting graffiti on the back wall.

The building is a heritage asset and a site that played a significant role in training during World War 2.

Investigating officer PC Colin Boyes, part of the Rural Crime Taskforce, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have information in relation to this incident. The graffiti is distinctive and someone may recognise its origins.

“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43220088720.

“Alternatively, for 100% anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
