Nursery, Reading Road, Arborfield Theft of landscaping equipment, chain saws, strimmers. No serial numbers no CCTV. Bolt croppers left on lawn and Torch left in barn. Potential for DNA and for tool mark comparison work for the series. RM attending. Spoken with CSI and RM on scene.

Farm, Hinton Road, Abingdon New built units- CCTV on order but not yet arrived. Broken into and batteries, a bag and a printer stolen. CSI tasked but screened as no potential

24/03/2022 between 03:00 and 03:38  Fleet Hill, Finchampstead.  A dark SUV has smashed through gates and 2 males have stolen a red quad bike from a tool shed

16/03/2022 and 24/03/2022.  Solar Farm, Eakley Lanes, Stoke Goldington.  Site has been broken into, where a fence has been damaged to gain access. Suspects have stolen wire and in other places, wires have been cut but not taken. No CCTV or suspects

27/03/2022 19:30 and 28/03/2022 07:00  Farm, Howe Lane, Bracknell.  The chain to main gate of farm has been broken and thrown away.  Barns have then been broken into possibly by using a crowbar and an Army Green off road Kawasaki quad bike and a large range of Makita and other power tools have been stolen.  Aggrieved has CCTV, but is unsure how clear this will be, with the fog.

27/03/2022 21:00 and 28/03/2022 05:45 Farm, Hungerford Lane, Reading.  Offenders have gained entry to farm by taking the galvanised gates at the entrance off the hinges.  They have then kicked into the workshop and stolen various gardening equipment. A red Honda quadbike, chainsaws and electric strimmer have been stolen

28/03/2022 at approx. 01:15  Farm, Haines Hill, Reading.  3 males in tracksuits have gone into a barn with hoods up. One had a crowbar and they have exited barn with items. One also appeared to have a toolbox of some sort.  5 doors have appeared to have the padlocks cut from them, including a gate which led to a barn storing quadbikes/motorbikes. 1 Stihl Leaf blower and 1 mini kids yellow quadbike have been stolen. A lot of horse tack appears to have been taken out of tack room, but left on driveway

Evening on 25/03/2022 and the morning of 28/03/2022  Aborfield Road, Shinfield.  Building site for a new car park has been broken into.  Suspect(s) have beaten the clip on the side of the first set of metal gates and then done the same to the second set. They have then broken into a metal container on the site and jarred it open at the bottom, which has caused damage to the door of the container. They have proceeded to steal a disc cutter, wheel barrow, 3 shovels, bag of tools, spirit levels and petrol container. NO CCTV or suspects. Suspect have also smashed the glass door of mini digger, caused damage to the side panel of the digger, and then searched the digger.


Farm Road, Faringdon Vehicle has been stolen with keys over a 2-hour window. ANPR work conducted by rural crime co-ord for the area.  No activations since 13:13 on the 17th March. Stolen marker applied.

Caravan Park, Fairchild, Hungerford Theft of red diesel from tractor - Agg states he has video/photos of the offer(s) and vehicle.

Farm Livery, Tadmarton.   2 males have tried to enter the area and stole batteries for the electric fencing. Two have been found on the floor by the gate as men made off when approached by aggrieved.

Wittenham Road, Abingdon Third party report of a group of people possibly stealing a horse and gas bottles. No aggrieved or confirmed offence at this time.

Marsh Lane, Thatcham Theft of 30 hay bales and damage to crops. 2 items left on scene (vape/can).

19/03/2022  Farm, Lower Whitehill, Tackley.  Police attended a report of 50 sheep on main road.  However, whilst officer was on scene, a local farmer has informed officers that suspects have forced open the metal gate to a field and stolen and a "Pratley" sheep handling system. The item would have to be folded away, which is not easy if you do not know how, allowing the item to be towed away.

27/03/2022 18:00 and 28/03/2022 06:00  High Street, Whitchurch.  Blue Land Cruiser Invincible Index AF **BWL Blue has been stolen by 3 people. The vehicle is left off road with the keys in caller’s house in a box, but no signs of entry in caller’s property and there is also a ghost alarm on the car. This means the vehicle should not be able to start without a sequence. Aggrieved has CCTV of offence.


25/03/2022  JCT Shogmoor Lane/Parmoor Lane, Frieth, Wycombe  A vehicle flagged down aggrieved and asked him if he wanted to buy 2 generators.  He stated he did not want to buy them.  When the vehicle drove off, the aggrieved the realised that his dog was missing.  The van is a white Vauxhall Vivaro LS **XZE.  1 man is described as white, about 50 years old, thin build, bald and wearing a country style cap, well dressed with a green sleeveless jumper. The second man, is described as white in his late 30’s, thick set/well built, long swept back gelled dark brown hair, wearing blue jeans and blue top and well-dressed not scruffy.  The dog is described as a red Patterdale female, long legs, between medium and small sized, docked tail, grey round mouth and nose and is called Ruby.

26/03/2022 Farm, Stoke Road, Newton Longville.  a man has attended aggrieved’s front gate, he is described as white, no accent, 35-40 years old with short curly hair and wearing light coloured shorts and a light top.  He asked if the aggrieved does dog training as a business. The aggrieved informed him that she just does it for fun; the man then ran off down the road. It now appears that a male Labrador aged 11 has gone through the gate and been taken by the male.  The dog is described as a chocolate Labrador, with no collar and is called Paddy.


Bury’s Bank Road, Thatcham.  6 men reported to be coursing.  They had lurchers and a terrier with them (also approx. 6).  4 of them have been checked.  All the stopped males appear to be known to us and there are loads of previous for all of them for hare coursing, sus circs and intel among others. The car was a blue MITSUBISHI Shogun Pinin GX ** FKB.. The car seems to be based in and around Slough, as this is the centre of the activity. The vehicle is sporadically active, but 201 reports over 90days.  It is also seen around the South Coast.

Winterbourne Road, Newbury Aggd has reported persons and dogs coursing on her lands. Unit has attended.

24/03/2022  National Trust, Hughenden Manor, Hughenden Park, High Wycombe,  A fox has been found shot on National Trust land

26/03/2022  North Heath, Newbury.  Report of 4 men poaching with terriers. Officers have attended and stop searched several males and a vehicle. One terrier had significant facial injuries and was taken to the vets, which confirmed these injuries are consistent with that of a dog being attacked / fighting a badger. The dog also had historic facial injuries.  One man was arrested 04/08/2022 for attempt to injure a badger and cause unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. Another offender know to the police was stop searched

26/03/2022  Westhorpe Farm Lane, Little Marlow.  3rd party report from someone fishing on owners, land that a group of people with dogs arrived. They hunt deer, as there are usually carcasses after they leave.  This time, they were just walking about and no hunting was observed. The fisherman had confronted them and stated it was private land.  The group became aggressive towards them. They had Jack Russell terriers and Lurchers with them.


Farm, Thatcham Vehicle has been seen on private long driveway, when approached it has sped off. 2 up - Black Discovery.

Farm, Newbury.  Sus car described as a grey / black Audi A6 index VO ** EKD. 15 reports in the last 90 days of this car.  Last seen 04/03/2022 in Peterborough area no reports anywhere else in the country since then.

Farm, Tadmarton and Farm Bloxham.   Red (maroon) Ford Transit index MD ** KSO seen on Farms around Tadmarton and Bloxham BANBURY.  Two occupants.  2 white men filming or takin g photos of the contents of garages/farm buildings. When approached they have become aggressive and continued to film.  The car is SORN,  notified off road on 24/02, but it has been active on ANPR throughout March and April.  Suspicious marker applied. It has distinctive yellow tabs at the top on the back. From ANPR work, the car seems to be based more around Birmingham and it’s outer areas.  It has hit cameras several times in this area.

22/03/2022  Hitcham Lane/Hitcham Road, Taplow.  3 men have been observed riding off-road motorbikes on farmland behind St. Mary’s church and there were approximately 4 men watching. The caller believes that they have probably caused damage a fence to get in and the 3 motorbikes were all black and 1 was slightly larger.

22/03/2022 West Side Rise, Olney. A Transit Van index LG ** LYJ has been cruising around the West Side Rise and Johnson’s Field area. Two white male occupants and passenger in high vis jacket. They appear to be scoping the area. VRM: LG04LYJ should be on a Mercedes and ACT marker added.

22/03/2022  Upper Lambourn Road, Hungerford.  A White Volkswagen Transport Van index CRZ ** 53 has entered the yard without permission and then knocked on the window. They have not left despite the caller engaging them and caller is concerned they might try to take livestock.

23/03/2022 JCT Court Jill Road/Manor Fields, Wantage.  A man and a woman were observed hare coursing in a blue car with 2 greyhounds and have driven off towards Letcombe. Car is possibly a blue Vauxhall Zafira index RV ** LVL.

Farm, Great Bricknell Farm.  Gate cut off its hinges £300 to repair. Agg states this is a repeat offence. He has CCTV with facial recognition but it doesn’t seem to have captured the offence

24/03/2022Aldworth, Reading.  A 4x4 was driving on freshly planted crops causing criminal damage to rural fields. RB has a photo that shows male faces and the VRM of the 4x4.


Farm, Didcot.  A horse has been found in a field emaciated and unable to stand.  This has drawn attention from the public and the police, RSPCA.  A vet have been contacted to attend.  Due to a lot of social media attention, the local inspector has issued a statement and enquiries appear to be being progressed locally for animal welfare cases, as it has been highlighted that there may be other horses who are owned by the same owner that are also not being appropriately cared for.

Overnight on the 24/03/2022  Newbury.  A Muntjac deer has been shot and left by the side of a field. There are tyre marks all over the field. No CCTV or witnesses

08/04/2022  Queens Mother Reservoir, Majors Farm Road, Slough, a sheep has been found dead, unknown cause of death. But, face and neck have been opened by a knife. Cheek also removed from the Ewe, maybe for a trophy.  PC Matt Gleave took this job and spoke to the Vet.  Though it looked like a bullet hole and cheek removal, it was in fact caused by a parasite !

29/11/2021 and 21/03/2022 Mill Lane, Taplow.  A bat roost was destroyed. The bat roost should have been empty due to the time of year this has occurred. No CCTV or suspects.


With legislative changes limiting the use of red diesel which came into force on 1st April, there is a real possibility that the rate of fuel theft could dramatically increase in the coming months.  This is in context of already high rates of fuel theft.  It has been reported nationally that fuel theft has already increased by 88% so far in 2022.

27/3  Newport Road, Hanslope, Milton Keynes.  Theft of 200 / 250 litres of red diesel from a tank

Please ensure that any large stores of fuel have ample security protection, including overt deterrents, such as CCTV / alarm systems and adequate fencing.
