Witness Appeal for Assault and Theft

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an assault and theft in Reading.

At around 9:45pm on Thursday 13 January 2022, three suspects assaulted a man in his thirties on the bankside of River Kennet, behind Fobney Street. The victim received bruising and swelling to his face. His wallet was also stolen in the incident.  

The three offenders are all described as young men, wearing puffer jackets and dark clothing. All were on bikes.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jennifer Cox, based at Reading police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in the area and witnessed this assault to please get in touch.

“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43220018368.

“Alternatively, you can anonymously call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
