Appeal for witnesses following an assault in Banbury

At around midday on Friday 29 January the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was assaulted at the entrance to Princess Diana Park near to Bradley Arcade.

The offender hit the girl in the face and pushed her over before opening a can of Coke and pouring it over her.

The victim sustained cuts to her hands and knees from the fall, but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC James Peachey, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was near the entrance to the park at the time of the incident and may have seen something that will help the investigation.

“Anyone who has information should contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, or make a report online, quoting the reference 43210039588.

“Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
