Appeal for witnesses following assault in Stanhope Road

At around 6pm on Wednesday (6/1) police were called to reports of a fight on Stanhope Road at the roundabout near to Bamburgh Close.

Around six men are believed to have been involved and some of these were suspected to be carrying weapons.

One man sustained cuts to his head but did not require hospital treatment.

The offenders are described as Asian men wearing dark clothing and bobble hats and some of them are believed to have used a black Ford Focus.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Alexander Willis, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident or any CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage to come forward.

“You can do this by using our online form or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43210007114. Or if you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
