HMP Woodhill Throw-over and Drone Awareness

Alert message sent 22/05/2020 12:19:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police and HMP Woodhill are working in partnership to prevent contraband entering the prison, especially drugs and mobile phones which have a significant impact on safety and disorder.

If you see a drone or someone throwing items into the prison, please report this to the Police on 999 and where possible give a description of the suspect(s), their location and their direction of travel. Any vehicle registration numbers and descriptions also provide invaluable intelligence.

If you notice any suspicious activity, please report it to the prison directly on 01908 722 334 so that they can monitor the situation. Do not approach anyone acting suspiciously yourself.

Thanks to the vigilance of local residents and members of the public, police and prison staff have already been able to respond to reports of suspicious activity near to the prison perimeter. Some of these have involved packages being thrown over the wall. Every report helps us to respond quickly, arrest suspects where applicable and safely intercept the packages. This helps us to keep the prison safe for prisoners, staff and visitors, allowing us to rehabilitate prisoners and reduce the risk of future offending.

With your help, we can immediately multiply the number of eyes watching over the prison, allowing us to swiftly catch offenders and send a clear message that they will not be able to commit crime in this area.
