Appeal for witnesses following assault in Oxford

At around 11.35pm on Wednesday (19/2) multiple altercations broke out between a group of 10 – 15 young people, both male and female in Hythe Bridge Street.

A red shoulder bag and tobacco was stolen.

The victims, two girls aged 16 and 17-years-old and one 17-year-old boy, sustained bruising, cuts and grazes to their faces. They did not require hospital treatment.

Case Investigator Sophie Quainton based at St Aldates police station said: “I am appealing to anyone that was in the area at the time of the incident and may have information that could assist our investigation to get in touch.

“Anyone with information should call Thames Valley Police on 101, or make a report online, quoting reference number 43200058423.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
