Appeal for witnesses following a burglary in Aldridge Park

Alert message sent 07/11/2019 18:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Winkfield Row.
Between 7.00am and 9.50pm on Wednesday 6 November 2019 offenders gained entry to a house in Aldridge Park, by initially breaking into the attached garage and then making use of a ladder to climb in through an upstairs window.
Once inside offenders made an untidy search and stole items including items of jewellery.
Detective Sergeant Marc Boyd of the local CID said “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information to call our 24-hour contact centre on 101, quoting reference 43190347036.
If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity “Crimestoppers” anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are asked for, and your call is not traced or recorded, and you wouldn’t be expected to attend court.
At this time of year burglars like easy targets such as homes that are left in total darkness in the early evenings. You can reduce the risk of them targeting your home when you’re not in by using a simple timer switch to turn a lamp or two on as it gets dark.
