Appeal for witnesses following an attempted robbery in High Wycombe

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in High Wycombe.

At around 8.50pm on Saturday (21/9) the victim, a 15-year-old boy, was approached and grabbed by a man who attempted to steal his mobile phone on the junction of Oakridge Road and Upper Green Street.

The mobile phone was not stolen.

The offender is described as an Asian man, between 25–30-years-old, around 5ft 10ins tall with short black hair which was shaped and trimmed. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, grey jeans and spoke with a local accent.

Investigating officer Hannah Hargreaves based at High Wycombe police station said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim, but thankfully nothing was stolen.

“I am appealing to anybody who was in the area at the time of the offence who believes that they may have witnessed anything, to contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190292788 or make a report online.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
