Your local policing update

Alert message sent 02/09/2019 09:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Burnham/Farnham’s/Taplow & Dorney

Neighbourhood Priorities

Priority One – Burglary
This quarter we have seen a decrease in burglary from 24 to 16 and also for non-dwelling burglaries (sheds/garages etc) from 14 to 5.

However the dark nights are starting to draw in and you may find you are coming home to a dark house! This is a clear indication that no one is home so please remember to use timer switches to have lights come on before it gets dark. If you are going away for some late sunshine then please ensure you cancel newspaper & milk deliveries, and make neighbours you trust aware that you’ll be away, so they can keep an eye on your property as well.

Priority Two – Anti Social Behaviour (ASB)
During the warm weather this summer we have seen a slight increase in anti-social behaviour around Dorney Lake. To combat this the neighbourhood teams have been working closely with on-site security and have increased patrols around the area to tackle this and proactively deal with poor and illegal parking around Court Lane.

Priority Three – Speeding
We now have two very active Community Speed Watch teams, (one in Burnham and one in Taplow) and we are currently looking to set one up for Dorney with the parish council.

This is a great opportunity for residents who wish to volunteer their time to monitor speeding in areas highlighted for concern by fellow residents. If you are interested in helping out then please contact the team or your local Parish Council.

Offenders Brought to Justice

A male has been charged for criminal damage in Burnham.

A female has been charged with two counts of public order in Taplow

A further three people have been charged with shoplifting’s which have occurred at Sainsbury’s in Taplow and Farnham Common and TK Maxx
