Man sentenced following modern slavery investigation in Oxford

A man from Oxford has been sentenced today (6/8) to five years’ imprisonment after being convicted of five offences in connection with modern slavery.

He was found guilty by unanimous verdict on Thursday (1/8) of requiring two people to perform forced/compulsory labour, carrying on a regulated activity when not an authorised/exempt person and arranging or facilitating travel of two people with a view to exploitation. It follows a trial which lasted 14 days at Oxford Crown Court.
