Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Monday 8th April 2019 for Ascot.

Today is the first day of our ‘Spring Forward Burglary Campaign’.  For our new Home security booklet, put your curser over the image below and then press control and right click with your mouse.

We are promoting Video Doorbells and Fake TVs.

Fake TVs, go in a front facing upstairs room.  They are plug and leave.  They have 2 settings - Winter & Summer.  In the summer they stay on for 4 hours, in the winter 7 hours.  They also have a dusk to dawn sensor, built in.  They come on when it gets dark and a TV could be seen flickering outside - even if curtains are drawn - an goes off after those hours.

Video Doorbells - do you have one ?  Are you happy with it ?  Many of our members may not be very techy and think they will be difficult to install and then to sort out, how you get the images sent to your mobile phone.  Would you mind writing me an email explaining how you dealt with these issues and how difficult it was to install ??  I will then share that with everyone.

The present campaign ends on 31st May - so there will be more coming out.

7/4 - 8/4  Sunday 6 p.m. / Monday 6 a.m.  Leacroft.  Car broken into and sunglasses stolen.  Other items discarded along the road.

8/4  Monday 0.5 a.m. Oriental Road.  2 cars broken into.  The aggrieved left for work and found their two cars on the driveway unlocked.  Bothe had been searched and sunglasses stolen from one.  CCTV shows 2 offenders walking up the driveway and opening the cars, which were ENTERED BY UNKNOWN MEANS.

6/4  Saturday 7 a.m. / 8 p.m.  High Street.  Bike stolen.  A blue with yellow stripe, Apollo Vay bike.
5/4  Friday 8 a.m. / 4 p.m.  High Street.  Car rear windscreen smashed.  Vandalism.

The 101 number is still functioning properly, but I am afraid it may be slow to answer at the moment - if you are experiencing delays, you can always make contact with us using the online reporting system:
