Please be aware we have some conmen working Maidenhead town centre. Several shop staff have been conned out of staff, others have lost mobile phones, left on counters !. Re the phones, they have placed something over the phone, then picked it up and left the shops !
Re money - Bridge Street. a man entered a shop and gone straight to the counter and asked the assistant to change £240 worth of £10 for £20 pound notes.. He then confused the assistant by changing his mind, changing the amount and swapping notes. Eventually he asked for the notes back. After he had left, the assistant realised he had become so confused he had changed £200 and given the man that amount, then handed back his original £240 !
He is described as possibly Romanian, short gelled hair, black Help for Heroes jumper, about 30s, 5’9 tall.
Shifford Crescent - A young man came into the shop with his ‘mother.’ He asked to change a £20 for smaller change. While the assistant was distracted, they stole her mobile phone which was on the counter..
