Police are appealing for witnesses or residents who may have security CCTV recordings to assist them with investigations into a spate of Burglaries that occurred during the evening of Thursday 24 January in the centre of the village.
Between 4.30pm and 10.30pm on Thursday offenders unknown used bladed tools to force open the garage doors of a property in Monks Alley.  The offenders appear to have made an attempt to steal an ride on mower causing damage to its bodywork, at this time it is still to be confirmed if anything else was then stolen.  Crime ref 43190025657 refers
At midnight on Thursday a resident in Wickes Green saw a person running away from a neighbour’s garage, on subsequent inspection the garage was found to have been broken into and a quantity of garden tools including a ride on lawn mower, chain saw, and hedge trimmer had been stolen.  The lawn mower was located having been abandoned along the road. Crime ref 43190025655 refers.
At some time between 5.30pm Thursday and 7.50am Friday morning offenders managed to gain entry into the café at the parish council offices on Benetfield Road, leaving muddy footprints, an initial stock check suggests the intruders didn’t steal anything.  Crime Ref 43199926992 refers.
If you believe you saw anything connected to any of the above incidents or may have useful information please call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting the appropriate crime reference number.
If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity “Crimestoppers” anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are asked for, and your call is not traced or recorded, and you wouldn’t be expected to attend court.
