Incident in Princes Risborough town at 4am on new years day

Alert message sent 04/01/2019 14:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

There was a concerning incident that started in the Park Street/Manor park Avenue area of Princes Risborough at around 4am on 1/1/19. A 19 year old female was walking towards town having gotten a train back from celebrating new years eve. Two men approached the female and lead her along Park Street and across Wycombe Road towards the car park to Carlton Court where a struggle took place and the female escaped to safety.

This is an isolated and very unusual type of incident to have occurred in Princes Risborough. Whilst it is very unlikely that anything similar is going to happen again it may be prudent to try to avoid walking alone in the town overnight in the near future. If this can't be avoided please use normal precautions such as not wearing headphones so you can hear, having a charged mobile phone to hand and sticking to busier roads where passing traffic/CCTV is more prevalent.

Investigating officer Detective constable Emily Addison based at High Wycombe police station said "This is a concerning incident which has understandably caused the victim distress. I would like to appeal to anyone who saw this incident, or who has any information which they think could help our investigation to get in touch.
