Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Wednesday 28th November 2018 for Windsor.

Today, as part of the ‘Stronghold’ focus in Windsor, officers will be carrying out a drugs / knife crime sweep, in the Goswells / Alexandra Park, in Windsor.

Please come along and speak to our officers, to find out more information on how we are tackling drug related serious organised crime, in your area.

The idea is to let you know what you should be aware of, to ‘spot the signs’ of ‘County Lines’ activity in your area.  Many of you will have heard about County Lines as they have received a lot of coverage on TV.  They will explain to you, how to ‘spot signs’ of exploitation, of vulnerable people.  County Lines locate vulnerable people and ‘Cuckoo’ them.  They manipulate the most vulnerable, moving into their homes and dealing drugs from there.  If neighbours become suspicious, they leave and move onto another target, leaving devastation in their wake.

If you believe - or are even suspicious that a neighbour may be subject to this form of abuse, you can let us know by phoning the 101 number, or online (see below).  If you want total anonymity, you can phone The Crimestoppers Charity on 0800 555 111

NEXT: A case of employing a cold caller:

26/11  Monday 10.30 a.m.  Maidenhead.  The owner was cold called by a man who offered to clean her gutters and cut back some vegetation.  They agreed a price of £85.  .  He did the work, but left the vegetation behind along with a mess.  She then asked for it to be cleaned up and he mumbled and became verbally aggressive.  She then paid him, but googled his name only to find other people had posted complaints for similar behaviour.  Please remember our NHW Motto

I DO NOT BUY GOODS AND SERVICES AT THE DOOR

If you need work done, please do not rely on cold callers - even if they say, they have done work for someone down the road.  Ask neighbours or friends for a recommendation before employing anyone !
