Heatwave advice - Beat the Heat

With the prolonged increase in temperatures set to continue across the Thames Valley this week, please follow this important advice from Public Health England on how to ‘Beat the Heat’ and stay safe.
 
Keep in touch
  • Look after yourself, older people and the young
  • Listen to weather forecasts and the news
  • Plan ahead to avoid the heat
Keep well
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear a hat, light scarf & light, loose cotton clothes
  • Slow down when it is hot and avoid extreme physical exertion
  • Top up your sun cream throughout the day
Find somewhere cool
  • Keep your home cool
  • Have cool baths or showers, and splash yourself with cool water.
  • Keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm
  • Don’t leave pets unattended in vehicles
