Scam call claiming to be from Telephone Preference Service

Alert message sent 25/02/2018 16:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

This is a message from Thames Valley Neighbourhood Watch Association

Please be aware that we are receiving an increasing number of reports of phone calls purporting to be from the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). They generally ask if the subscriber is still receiving unwanted telephone calls and, inevitably, this is usually the case because the TPS can only reduce the frequency of these calls.

Sooner or later, in these calls, the caller will talk about payment to help provide a more comprehensive service.

Do not be drawn in by this and do not make any such payments. It is probably just a ruse to get your bank card details. If you get the callers number ( sometimes it is given) feel free to report it to the TPS. They do not charge for their services.
