Appeal for witnesses following assault - Emmer Green

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault of a woman on Tanners Lane, Chalkhouse near Emmer Green.

At around 8am on Sunday (23/7) a woman in her twenties was jogging along Tanners Lane, Chalkhouse near Emmer Green.

She passed a man on a skateboard and carried on jogging, then a few moments later the man on the skateboard grabbed her and physically assaulted her.

She managed to get away and hide in some brambles, and then flagged down a passer-by.

Shortly after a man was arrested in connection with the assault.

The victim received treatment from a paramedic and also was treated by her GP.

Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Lis Knight, said: “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this isolated incident.

“Shortly before the attack the victim was passed by a man who was riding a bicycle.

“We believe that this cyclist may have seen both the victim and the attacker prior to this incident.

“We would ask him or anyone who has information to please call 101 quoting reference 400 (23/7/2017).”
