Appeal for information following burglary on Upton Road

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

We are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Upton Road, Slough.


Between 10.30pm on Monday 26 June and 8.30am on Tuesday 27 June, offenders entered the rear of a property on Upton Road in Slough and gained entry to a shed.


A tortoise, which the owner has had for over 50 years, was stolen in the incident. 


Investigating officer, PC Kimberley Clapson at Slough police station said: “

“This has been a distressing incident for the victim who has now lost a beloved pet, and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.


“If anyone has been offered a tortoise for sale, or if anyone witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the incident, please call the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting reference ‘43170187636’.


“Alternatively, information can be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”


Thames Valley Police advise people to never leave a garage or shed unlocked and to fit strong padlocks and hardware to doors.
