Crime Update Tuesday 4th July 2017 - Maidenhead

Alert message sent 04/07/2017 15:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Tuesday 4th July 2017 for Maidenhead.

COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH AND SPEEDING ISSUES.

I asked recently in a message, for named streets where there may be a speeding issue, so that we could run ‘Community SpeedWatches’ with your assistance……..I have been inundated !  We are still going to run them, but it may take some time to make contact with you to do the road you suggest.  As there have been so many requests, it appears this may be a bigger problem that we anticipated and I have asked Trish Canziani the Senior RBWM Community Warden, who is organising her Warden team to carry out these assessments, to map the requests, to see if they are area specific on a particular ‘route’, or generally, right across the Borough.  As this is perhaps a bigger problem than we initially thought, once we have mapped the requests, we will see if we can engage the NAGs in those areas.

NEXT A SUCCESS FOR THE ALERT SYSTEM:

A windsurfer was stolen from a trailer on the drive at a house in Cookham.  I put this message out last week and another member of a watch scheme, immediately contacted me to say – they had found a windsurfer abandoned near their property.  They put this on a local Facebook page, but got no response until someone mentioned the TVP Alert message !!  They then contacted me, I contacted the local neighbourhood Team and ‘Bob’s your uncle’  it should all have been resolved.
