26/5  Friday midnight / 2.10 p.m.  Lock Mead.  Burglary.  The entry point was a first floor balcony window /patio doors.  Tool marks on the frame.  Apple mac and handbag stolen.  The handbag was later recovered from the garden minus some cash from the purse.
29/5  Monday 7 p.m.  All saints Avenue.  Burglary.  Entry through garden gate into the garden.  Thieves are believed to have climbed onto a first floor roof and then into the house via an upstairs window – the small fanlight had been left open.  They then climbed and went to the front door to put on the chain.  A rear patio door was left open as an exit route.  Untidy search of the whole house except the sitting room and dining room left untouched.  NO JEWELLERY IS KEPT IN THE HOUSE and it is believed nothing was taken.  It is believed the house was targeted for gold jewellery.  Several questions here !  A small fanlight was left open for ventilation.  This is fine…. As long as it is not accessible from a flat roof / extensions / porch or other means of access.  How did they open the rear patio doors as a means of exit ?  No keys left in doors please, but make sure they are hidden where it will take a thief more than 5 minutes to find !!  Well done though – keeping no valuable jewellery kept in the house.
29/5  Monday midnight / 5 a.m.  Cliveden Mead.  Two bikes stolen from an UNLOCKED shed.  1. A blue Cona Zing, bike.  2.  A blue Scott C130XXL bike.  Can everyone please take photos on their phones of their bikes please ?  It only takes a few seconds to place a bike against a wall and take a few shots.  One of the whole bike, others of the detail – make / model/ any identifying features ……… and the frame number underneath, between the pedals – PLEASE
27/5  Saturday 1.50 a.m.  Business, Furze Platt Road.  Window in the property smashed and a car vandalised.
26/5 – 27/5  Friday 7 p.m. / Saturday 4 p.m.  Grassy Lane.  2 screws pushed into the side wall of a tyre.

28/5  Sunday 7 p.m. / 7.25 p.m.  Gringer Hill.  CAR ENTERED BY UNKNOWN MEANS – The aggrieved was only notified when a man called at the door, saying he had found a backpack near Tescos.  He looked inside and found a bank statement with that address.  He asked for money for returning it !

P.S.

FIRST a new clever email scam:

Jeffrey

This is very clever - I am at the moment selling a house and I really nearly opened this, but the use of Z's in the spellings ("Authorized", "Specializing" etc - American format) and the address it came from, made me suspicious.

I haven't opened this, but it's a new one I haven't seen before !!!   Not sure if it's a coincidence that I am in the middle of a property sale, or someone has got wind of it, but a heads up !

Karen x
The email says – ‘Dear Client’, …’the attached file is a completion statement’  Please open it using your web browser’.
It comes from a firm of solicitors, conveyancing department – so this is very suspicious.  In the past, these have been connected with long term hacking, where the hackers visit your computer at regular intervals, reading your emails, waiting for an opportunity.  A completion, is an ideal opportunity to send an intercept email, so that the victim transfers purchase funds to their account !!!

NEXT – THE WINDOWS / MICROSOFT / BT SCAM – STILL GOING !
Hi Jeff,

I have received this week 2 phone calls from someone claiming they are from Microsoft saying my computer is at risk.

Thanks/Kind regards
Christine
Can everyone remain on the Alert and remind everyone they know.  The reason these old scam calls keep going…… is because people are still falling for it !

NEXT:  SCAM EMAIL FROM AMAZON

Hi Jeff,

Another scam, I have ordered nothing from Amazon (nor clicked on the order number!)

Mike

The email says that his order has been cancelled – to obtain a summary ………………. Click on the Link !

DON’T DO IT !

NEXT ONE FROM TESCOS

It is correctly addressed to Malcolm, and says that after a check of his account, he has not claimed a gift card they sent him !!!!

They strongly advise him to click on the Link to avoid losing it !!!!

DON’T DO IT !
