Crime Update Thursday 13th April 2017 - Maidenhead

Alert message sent 13/04/2017 09:44:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Thursday 13th April 2017 for Maidenhead.

Just a last minute crime update before the long Easter break.

If you are going away, remember to prepare your home.  Lights and talk radio stations on timers please – a fake TV left on, in an upstairs front facing bedroom !!

Make sure doors are locked - no keys left in them.  NO keys, in a key box on the wall – particularly labelled neighbours’ house keys !!!  If you have a glass lower panel in your front door, put something over it, so that an opportunist thief cannot see post piling up !!

Ask a neighbour to move cars and park on your driveway occasionally.

SET the alarm as you go.

If an Opportunist thief does break in, they will only be in your home for a max of 5 minutes, hence the fast and untidy search – make sure valuables, particularly jewellery is hidden somewhere it will take more than 5 minutes for me to find.  That is not between towels in an airing cupboard, in the fridge or freezer, not in a tin in your kitchen cupboards !

BE IMAGINITIVE – BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER WHERE YOU HAVE HIDDEN IT AND TOLD SOMEONE YOU REALLY TRUST, WHERE IT IS !!!

Have a good, crime free weekend.
NEXT:-

It is believed a skimming device was placed on an ATM cash till in the town centre.  Not confirmed as yet.  Please be especially careful if you use an ATM in the street, to check it carefully before you insert your card.  We have not had a skimming device for several years, better to get cash back from a supermarket when you buy your shopping.
