Alert message sent 06/03/2017 14:27:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

This message is dated Monday 6th March 2017 for Maidenhead.

Many thanks to those who said they would be willing to assist us, with the FOOD ACADEMY.  We are really grateful.  If you are still considering it, we will never leave you unsupported at the sessions.  The first two weeks, are run solely by the police and partners, to ‘establish’, the young people on the course.  Discipline and teamwork, are often new concepts to those who attend.  By week three, they get it and are completely committed and onside.  After that and at the banquet, is when we will require the help, support and assistance.

I had a call from someone whose husband recently retired after running a tea shop, unfortunately my desk has been cleared, along with their contact details.  Can you re-email me the contact details please ?

I am just back from a meeting with the Army Welfare team on The Broom Farm Estate, in Dedworth, where we were successful in a bid to run 4 Food Academies.  They are right behind the project so we are beginning to get underway.  Our first step, is to create an Exec Group of partners - movers and shakers – to cover the logistics !  Then with the help of some of you, I will organise a follow up meeting to discuss how our volunteers can become fully involved.

5/3  Sunday noon / 6.10 p.m.  Kensal Green Drive.  Burglary.  Thieves entered the property via a garden gate.  They reached over and opened a bolt.  Rear window forced leaving tool marks on the frame.  Untidy search of the whole house, including wardrobes and suitcases – very unusually they also went into the loft.  Not yet known if anything stolen.  We have had a slight increase in thieves searching wardrobes as safes are becoming more and more common, hidden in the bottom.  Please be aware, a safe installed in the bottom of wardrobes as opposed to in walls / under floors, is only as strong and secure, as the surface into which it is set.  Sometimes the base of a wardrobe is only chip board / MDF and safes are not too difficult to lever out.  ALSO – IF YOU HAVE A SAFE INSTALLED, NO-ONE, IS TOLD ABOUT IT !
