Alert message sent 05/12/2016 13:54:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

FREE anti-tamper screws fitted to vehicle registration plates – Aylesbury

The Aylesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHPT), in partnership with the Youth Motor Project, are holding a crime prevention event in Aylesbury.

Come and visit them in the car park of Tesco Broadfields, on Friday 9 December, between 10am and 2pm and you can get anti-tamper screws fitted to your car registration plates for free.

These screws can help prevent your vehicle number plate being stolen and used in crime.

Every year stolen plates are used to make similar vehicles look like genuine cars, for use in crime such as burglaries or not paying for fuel, disguising stolen vehicles, along with avoid paying congestion charges and parking tickets etc.

The team will also be on hand to give out crime prevention advice and leaflets. There will also be a limited number of free timer light switches available, which will be given out on a first come first served basis.

If you can’t come on the day you can visit the Thames Valley Police website for crime prevention advice and information, or you can contact your local NHPT on the 24 hour Police Enquiry Centre number 101.
