Thefts at Bradwell Common Shopping Area

Alert message sent 10/10/2016 09:18:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Dear all,

We have now had two reports of theft from the person that have occurred in and around the supermarket area of Bradwell Common which are being investigated.

One of these reports relates to a person approaching the victim in their car in Bradwell Common and asking for directions, while another stole items from the passenger seat of the vehicle. This is what we would refer to as a 'Distraction Theft', and relies on one suspect confusing or gaining the concentration of the victim, while another suspect steals items. It is particularly important to remain vigilant to these activities and ensure your vehicle doors are locked and possessions secured. A suspect for this offence has been described as an Eastern European male in his early 30's.

Another report is from inside Aldi supermarket on Bradwell Common where the victim has had a wallet stolen from their pocket whilst they were shopping.

Both offences are being fully investigated. I would ask people to remain vigilant in the area and report any suspicious activity. If anyone does notice their bank cards missing, please be sure to cancel these with your bank immediately.
