We are asking residents to remain vigilant following a recent increase in residential burglaries in the local area. While our officers continue to investigate these incidents and carry out patrols, there are a number of simple steps you can take to help protect your home and property.

How to Reduce the Risk of Burglary

Lock all doors and windows, even when you're only out for a short time.

Make your home look occupied use timer switches on lights in the evening.

Keep keys out of sight & away from doors, windows and letterboxes.

Check CCTV and doorbell cameras are working & recording correctly.

Keep hedges and shrubs trimmed to improve visibility around your property.

Record and photograph valuables & consider marking valuable items.

Keep vehicle keys secure & use a signal-blocking pouch for keyless vehicles.

Report suspicious activity such as people trying door handles or acting unusually in the area.
