Suspicious circumstances, Elm Grove MUW |
||
|
Residents are advised that a suspicious incident has been reported on Elm Grove. On Thursday 16th at 0330 a group of males wearing hooded clothing were seen attempting to access a garden. At this stage, it is unclear whether they were intending to target a shed or gain entry to the house itself.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any further suspicious activity, especially individuals checking doors, gates, or looking into gardens. If you have any further information please contact police on 101 and quote 43260183823. Please check your CCTV to see if you captured anything as it’s suspected a vehicle was parked near by.
Lock all doors and windows, even when you are at home or in the garden. Keep keys out of sight, particularly away from doors and windows. Install motion sensor lighting to deter anyone approaching your property. Consider CCTV or video doorbells to capture activity and provide evidence. Set alarms when leaving or overnight, even for short periods. Make your home look occupied if you’re out (lights, timers, radio/TV).
Secure sheds with strong locks and hinges (consider a hasp and staple with a closed-shackle padlock). Anchor valuable items like bikes and tools inside the shed using chains or ground anchors. Avoid leaving tools or ladders outside, as these can be used to gain entry. Mark property with UV pens or forensic marking kits (e.g. SelectaDNA). Install shed alarms – inexpensive but very effective. Keep gates locked and consider gravel paths for added noise deterrent.
If you see suspicious behaviour happening now, call 999. For non-emergency information, report via 101 or online.
Stay alert, look out for your neighbours, and report anything that doesn’t feel right. | ||
