A busy shift yesterday for the Abingdon neighbourhood team. As well as holding a Have your Say meeting last night, PCSOs Ali Blood & Maddie Highmoor detained a young man on suspicion of theft after a report of a shoplifting from Poundland. He was also recognised by them as being outstanding as a suspect in a criminal damage. He was taken home & is attending the police station for an interview next week. They also responded to a report of a tree having fallen on a vehicle, luckily no one was injured.
PCs Highsmith & Musat responded to a report of a BB gun being fired at people in the town centre. They were directed in by the Vale of White Horse District Council CCTV operators, where a female was found with a toy gun. This was seized & the female will be interviewed in relation to an assault reported the week before where a lady was hit in the face by a pellet.
The team also responded to reports of a man arguing & being abusive to passing members of the public. Stopped checked a vehicle with three occupants, who were all searched as well as the vehicle in relation to drug offences. Interviewed a lady in relation to several criminal offences that had been committed against her neighbours. We are back on duty later today.
Have a good day.
