Inconsiderate parking |

I'd would like to remind residents and visitors about the importance of parking considerately and legally within our community. Over recent weeks we have received an increasing number of complaints regarding: Vehicles obstructing pavements, making it difficult for wheelchair users, those with mobility issues, and parents with prams to pass safely. Parking on double yellow lines, which restricts visibility, reduces road safety, and can prevent emergency vehicles from accessing certain areas. Obstruction of driveways and junctions, creating hazards for both drivers and pedestrians. School pick‑up and drop‑off concerns We are seeing particular issues around local schools during morning drop‑off and afternoon pick‑up times. Parking on pavements, zig‑zags, and double yellows significantly increases the risk to children who are crossing the road. Please help us keep everyone safe by using designated parking areas and leaving extra time for your journey. Shinfield Road – takeaway collection parking We are also aware of ongoing problems along Shinfield Road, where some vehicles are blocking pavements, obstructing driveways, and driving over pavements when collecting takeaways. Even short stops can cause visibility problems and create unsafe conditions for other road users and pedestrians. How you can help - Park legally, even if you are stopping only for a short time. - Avoid parking on pavements—this is both unsafe and inconsiderate. - Keep school areas clear during busy periods. - Consider using side roads or nearby legal parking spaces when collecting food or making quick stops. Your cooperation helps keep our neighbourhood safer and more accessible for everyone. Our team will continue to monitor these areas and offer advice or take enforcement action where necessary. If you have concerns or would like to report persistent issues, please get in touch with us via the usual channels. Thank you to everyone who are following the rules and keeping people safe. | ||
