Laughing gas is no laughing matter! |
||
|
Thames Valley Police is aware of a rise in nitrous oxide use, commonly referred to as “laughing gas” or “NOS”. While it may seem harmless to some young people, the risks are significant. Nitrous oxide can lead to oxygen deprivation, impaired coordination, nerve damage and long‑term health issues. We are asking parents and carers to have conversations with their children about these dangers. Many young people do not fully understand the risks or may feel pressured to try it because it is easy to obtain. A straightforward discussion at home can play an important role in helping them make safer decisions. If you become aware of nitrous oxide use, supply, or gatherings where it is being taken, please report it to us. Community information is essential in helping us safeguard young people and maintain the safety of our neighbourhoods. Thank you for your ongoing support. | ||
