Over the last few days, our Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHPT) were made aware of significant concerns in certain properties within Wantage.
As a result, we obtained closure orders on three properties in our area.
These are court orders which prevent anyone other than named parties from entering the buildings. This action has been taken:
• ✅ To protect vulnerable residents who were being preyed upon
• ✅ To safeguard the wider community who were having to endure constant issues and disruption linked to these addresses The closure orders will remain in place for three months, and during this time:
• 👮 Our NHPT will continue to enforce the orders to ensure compliance
• 👩 Professionals will be able to work with residents and the wider community to put in place a longer-term plan for safety and wellbeing 👉 How the public can help:
• Report any breaches of the closure orders immediately
• Continue sharing concerns with us so we can act quickly
• Support vulnerable neighbours by looking out for them and signposting them to trusted services We remain committed to tackling problems that impact our neighbourhoods and will continue working with our partners to keep Wantage and Grove safe.
