Hare Coursing |
||
Good Morning Resident
On Sunday 14th September TVP where alerted by a member of the public of Hare Coursing taking place on farmland between Cholsey and Aston Tirrold. The Didcot and Wallingford Neighbourhood Team with the assistance of Team 5 attended the location for an area search. Using local knowledge and mapping we were able to establish the route in which these individuals would likely have taken. Officers have identified a vehicle which was registered to an address a considerable distance away and possible linked to the hare coursers. PCSO's then came across a male in the vicinity, whom after seeing officers started acting quite suspiciously, covered in mud and kept using his mobile phone. They have stopped the male and he had been detained for a search, he has subsequently divulged that he was involved in the incident although would not give up his accomplices. Although we had no evidence for an arrest the male was given VERY strong words of advice and the vehicle was seized in an attempt to identify the other occupants. Meaning the males involved had a very long walk home.
Hare Coursing is illegal and was banned under the Hunting Act 2004
