Thames Valley Police Mounted Section supporting the state visit in Windsor |
||
Thames Valley Police’s Mounted Section will be on patrol in Windsor from this weekend as part of the wider policing operation for the upcoming state visit of President of the United States Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump. Our team of highly trained officers and their horses will be visible in the town centre and surrounding areas, supporting the wider policing presence and engaging with members of the public. Residents and visitors are encouraged to say ‘hello’ and meet the horses and officers when you see them out and about. The Mounted Section plays a vital role in community engagement and public reassurance, while also supporting operational policing. Each horse is specially selected and trained for their role, with fitness and temperament being key. Among those on duty this week are:
Thames Valley Police has extensive experience in policing state visits and royal events, working closely with national and local partners. While some policing tactics will be visible to the public, there will be other policing tactics that the public won’t see. This is all part of a comprehensive approach to keeping everyone safe. | ||
